Manhappenin' Magazine

I have worked for Manhappenin' Magazine, a student-run publication at Kansas State University, for the past 3 years. I have been involved in photography, writing, designing and social media. For the past year, I have served on our executive team as Photo Editor. Below is some of the work I have done while on the team. Our team won Best Magazine All-Kansas at the 2021 Kansas Collegiate Media Awards.

For our Spring 2021 issue, Shift, I designed the cover and chose the image one of our photographers captured. Our theme centered around the adjustments campus and the world had to make in response to COVID-19. I pitched the idea for our sports piece, which detailed how one of K-State's star football players had to overcome obstacles in his first season. I cowrote and designed the piece. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, I decided to illustrate our subject because we were unable to meet in-person for a photoshoot.

The Fall 2020 issue, Metamorphosis, focused on the changes COVID-19 was forcing the world to go through. I shot the cover photo and designed it. I also illustrated and designed the food piece, Taste The Town. This article focused on local food dives in the Manhattan area. I illustrated a map of Manhattan, placing each dive in the area they  could be found in.

Dealing with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and school abruptly being transitioned to fully online, I illustrated the Summer 2020 cover for our team using my iPad Pro.

I also shot the image for the Fall 2019 issue.
